Bruno Ravella is an international opera director based in London, UK. Born in Casablanca of Italian and Polish parents, he was educated mainly in France, and made London his home as soon as he graduated.
Bruno has just directed Werther in Nancy with Edgaras Montvidas in the title role and Stéphanie d'Oustrac in her role debut as Charlotte. In 2017 he had his Italian directing debut at the Opera di Firenze/Maggio Musicale Fiorentino in Florence with Puccini's La Boheme. 2016 highlights include the double bill L'heure espagnole and Gianni Schicchi for the Opera National de Lorraine in Nancy, France, Verdi's Macbeth for Iford Arts and Cavalleria Rusticana/I Pagliacci for Hampstead Garden Opera in their new North London home. Bruno had his Garsington directing debut in June 2015 with Strauss' Intermezzo, received with great public and critical acclaim.
Upcoming projects include Falstaff for Garsington Opera in June 2018, La belle Hélène in Nancy and the American directing debut with Rigoletto at Opera Theatre of St Louis.
